Mrs. Shultz started playing the oboe in seventh grade after starting on the flute as a fifth grader. She loved the look and sound of the oboe and has never looked back. While in high school, she was a member of numerous honor bands and participated in solo and ensemble contest as well as being a member the jazz band.
Mrs. Shultz is currently a second year master’s candidate at the American Band College of Sam Houston State University. Prior to this she attended the University of MN - Duluth and earned a Bachelor of Music with a K-12 Instrumental Emphasis in 2008. While in Duluth Mrs. Shultz was a member of the concert band, wind ensemble, woodwind quartet and pep band. She also played English Horn in the orchestra. She’s traveled internationally with her college ensembles to both Brazil and Turkey.
Living in northern Minnesota, Mrs. Shultz has been teaching at the Win-E-Mac Public School District for the past nine years. She teaches senior high band, junior high band, elementary band, pep band and drum line along with various solos and ensemble groups. Mrs. Shultz is currently the sub-section 30 band president and organizes the District 8A Sub-Section 30 Honor Band as well as solo, ensemble and large group contests.
An active outdoors person, Mrs. Shultz enjoys gardening and cooking. She’s been member of Thief River Falls Community Band, Northern Jazz and currently plays with the District 9 Legion Band.
