Mr. Neal began his tuba playing career in the seventh grade at Clinton Junior High School in Clinton, MS. While in high school, he was a section leader as well as member of numerous honor bands and the Mississippi Lions All-State Band.
Mr. Neal is currently a first year master’s candidate at the American Band College of Sam Houston State University. Prior to this he attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS and earned a Bachelor of Music Education in 2010. While attending USM, Mr. Neal was a section leader in the Pride of Mississippi Marching Band as well as a member of the USM Tuba-Euphonium ensemble that performed at state band conventions and OcTUBAfests around the southeast.
Upon graduating college, Mr. Neal was granted a teaching position as the Band Director at Loyd Star High School which was a Lincoln County Public School from 2010-2015. He taught marching band, concert band, junior high band, beginner band, drum line and jazz band along with various ensemble groups. In 2015, Mr. Neal received a teaching position as Band Director at Olde Towne Middle School in Ridgeland, MS where he currently still teaches.
Mr. Neal’s favorite titles are father and husband. He enjoys hiking, camping, cooking(and EATING!), as well as reading and playing bass guitar. He is the bass guitarist for the Ridgeland High School Jazz band and the Olde Towne Middle School band.
